GroupM hires ex-Myntra top executive Manu Prasad to head social media practice for south India

groupmGroupM India, a provider of media investment management services, has roped in Manu Prasad as head of its social media practice for south India. Based in Bangalore, Prasad will report to GroupM's national head for social media, Karthik Nagarajan.

"Manu Prasad brings in a wealth of marketing leadership experience, across media platforms. His experience of having built a social media programme ground up in a category as dynamic as e-commerce will be a huge asset. Our clients, especially the ones in the southern markets, will benefit substantially from his contribution," said Nagarajan.

Prasad comes with close to a decade of experience in traditional and digital brand management. Prior to joining, he worked with leading online retailer Myntra.com where he headed the social media function. In the past, he held various roles at brands including WorldSpace, MiDDay and Times Group. He is also mentoring a few startups at the Microsoft Accelerator in Bangalore.

"GroupM has an exciting roster of clients...My goal would be to make each of them the gold standard in social in their respective domains," Prasad said.

A WPP company, GroupM handles the social media practice for more than 70 brands, including Nestle, Arvind Mills, P&G, Frito Lay's, PepsiCo India, Titan Industries and STAR TV.
