BrizzTV-Airtel-DTH

Airtel Digital TV, the DTH service arm of Bharti Airtel, has formed an alliance with Twitter wherein Twitter's live feeds will be integrated on TV. Post this integration, Airtel Digital TV customers will be able to see tweets about popular TV programmes, celebrities, sports personalities, etc. on the TV screen. Customers will also be able to tweet across channels while watching. This service doesn't require viewers to have an active Twitter account or internet connectivity. The service is powered by Brizz TV, a digital media startup that brings web content onto the television screen without internet connectivity.

For activation, customers have to press the green key on their Airtel Digital TV remote. They can close the tweet window or resume viewing back at any given time by pressing the same green key again. Customers can send their tweets on any TV show with the specific hash-tags prompted on the TV screen and they will be broadcasted LIVE by Airtel Digital TV. Initially, the service will be available on select TV channels and will be extended to others in succession.

This is the third such tie-up between Airtel and Brizz TV. In March last year, Airtel Digital TV had launched iExam, powered by Brizz TV. iExam is an interactive test preparation service on TV. Later in June this year, the two firms partnered to bring movies without ad breaks for viewers on a channel called Free Movies on Airtel Digital TV.
