Chandrabhanu Pattajoshi, former head of sales strategy at Yahoo India, has joined PrecisionMatch, a Smile Vun Group firm that provides data for digital marketing, as its business head.

In his current role, Pattajoshi will lead sales, business development, alliances, partnerships and the overall business at PrecisionMatch, the company said in a press release. He will build PrecisionMatch ground up in India and work on international expansion plans.

Launched in October last year, PrecisionMatch provides third-party audience data and analytics in India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. It aims to improve the performance of internet display advertising through the use of audience data. The firm offers data across categories such as auto, mobile handsets, travel/holiday seekers, technology, etc. and can provide data to target niche segments such as high-end smartphone buyers, SUV buyers, holiday seekers, and auto enthusiasts.

PrecisionMatch recently added new segments such as entertainment and food & drinks, for which it offers audience data. PrecisionMatch's clients include Samsung, General Motors, Tata Motors, Snapdeal.com and Expedia.com.

A veteran in media sales, Pattajoshi has over 16 years of experience in leading business development and media sales for brands across business verticals and media genres. He joined Yahoo India in November 2007 and most recently  headed national sales strategy for the firm. Earlier, he worked with Radio One as its sales head for a year and worked at Star TV. He holds a bachelor's degree in Arts & Commerce from Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune.
"Data targeted display is an adopted practice in the West and has helped automobile brands, CPGs and retail players boost sales, drive footfalls, increase website traffic, etc. I am confident that data targeted display will change the dynamics of online advertising, and brands in India will soon witness an interesting inflection point," Pattjoshi said.

SVG is a tie-up between Manish Vij's Vun Network and Harish Bahl's Smile Group.
