youtube2Video-sharing site YouTube, owned by the search giant Google, will introduce paid subscriptions for some of its content this week.

The development was first reported by Financial Times. To initiate this move, YouTube is mainly targeting content producers and advertisers who are currently using traditional TV channels to reach out to consumers.

The service will be initially launched with 50 channels and partners can display their ads on their respective pay channels. According to the media report, the paid subscription will be available at $1.99 a month.
