Spice Digital Ltd (formerly Cellebrum Technologies) has unveiled an IVR-based audio blogging platform called Voice Tube in Bangladesh.

The service has gone live through Bangladesh's private operator Robi Axiata Ltd, a joint venture between Axiata Group Berhad of Malaysia and NTT DoCoMo of Japan. It may soon go live on Airtel Bangladesh, as reported by MediaNama.

Voice Tube  enables users to generate/record audio content that can be shared with the user's network for a span of two days and usage time of 20 minutes. Also, the content can be liked/rated and shared on Facebook by using a unique dialling code provided by the operator.

Similar offerings available in the market include Singapore-based voice messaging service provider Bubble Motion's Bubbly, a voice blogging service that has seen tremendous traction among mobile users across Asia, and New Jersey-based Kirusa Inc., to name a few.

In India, Bubble Motion partnered with top operators including Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications and Vodafone to offer voice-based services such as celebrity voice chats, voice messages and voice blogs. Bubbly registered 500,000 users in March 2010, which skyrocketed to over two million users by June. The fast-growing user base had 1.2 million paid subscribers across multiple telecom operators in India. In July 2011, Bubbly marked 10 million users globally and one million users with Indian mobile carrier Reliance Communications.
