Delhi-based Le Travenues Technology Pvt Ltd, which runs the travel search engine service iXiGO, has rolled out a mobile app called myPNR for automatic tracking of flight and train status.

A free app, first showcased at the recently held Techcircle DEMO India 2013  in Bengaluru, myPNR is capable of automatically syncing with the PNR (passenger name record) number activated through SMS and received by customers after online booking confirmation. It can read the PNR messages lying in your SMS inbox and helps you view, manage and track your flight and train status. The app will be available on Google Play Store from the first week of April

"myPNR will be initially available on Android devices. We will extend the app to other devices as well, but it will take some time," said Aloke Bajpai, CEO and co-founder iXiGO.

The app constantly updates the user on flight/train status and provides alerts on delays and schedule changes. It also notifies PNR changes for active trips, shows web check-in alerts and displays one's past and active trips. In addition, you get to see ticket details and other relevant information on your mobile device, thus enabling paperless boarding. The iXiGO app also provides notifications to remind users about their active trips.

"All existing PNR apps require users to remember or store the PNR number and manually enter it to get status updates. In contrast, myPNR automatically picks the number from the confirmation SMS, add it to the list of trips and keeps you updated. Also, there is no loading time since updates are happening in real time," said Bajpai.
