STAR TV's digital head Lalit Bhagia quits to pursue entrepreneurial goals

STAR TV's vice-president and digital head (internet and mobile) Lalit Bhagia has put in his papers and will be looking to start his own venture. He will be serving his notice period till the end of March, as reported by Afaqs.

Bhagia joined STAR India in May 2010 and led the digital strategy for entertainment and cricket businesses of the channel. He also managed STAR India's mobile VAS initiatives, various channel websites (starplus.in and channelv.in, among others), portals (indya.com, starboxoffice.com) and led partnerships (with Google, Yahoo, etc.).

Prior to joining STAR TV, he was executive vice-president and head of APAC at the digital agency Digitas (part of the Publicis Groupe) for about eight years. He is reportedly resigning to begin his entrepreneurial journey and is looking to set up a new venture in the digital space.

Bhagia began his career as an entrepreneur and started www.service4u.com, which was angel-funded by Sherman International and was shut down later. He then worked with companies such as Times Internet Ltd and NIIT.
