Samsung ropes in Vineet Taneja from Bharti Airtel to head mobile & digital imaging unit

Samsung India Electronics Pvt Ltd has announced the appointment of Vineet Taneja as its country head for the mobile and digital imaging division. He replaces Ranjith Yadav, who quit in September.

Prior to joining Samsung, Taneja was working as the operations director for South India and Sri Lanka region at Bharti Airtel for two years. Before that he worked at Nokia India as chief marketing officer and as vice president, sales  and marketing for Hindustan Lever's beverages and foods business.

"Samsung India has been on a strong growth trajectory and with his vast experience in managing the business and the ecosystem, he will further consolidate our brand position and take it to the next level in the Indian market," Samsung president and CEO South West Asia BD Park said on the appointment.

Taneja will look after the mobile and digital imaging biz which would include the smartphones, digital camera and printers, scanners etc.

He said his focus would be to enhance the product offering as well as increase the team for this arm of the business. Samsung is the largest smartphone brand in India.
