Yahoo India & South East Asia MD Arun Tadanki quits

Yahoo's India and South East Asia managing director Arun Tadanki has quit the company. According to Yahoo, Tadanki will remain with the company till June 2013 and will play an active role to support the company during the transition period. The news was first reported by Medianama.

"Having worked for 11 years in CEO roles for APAC / Emerging Markets regions at multinational internet companies, I am looking forward to playing a very different role within the internet ecosystem, beyond our region," said Tadanki.

Tadanki joined Yahoo in May 2009 as MD, India, and was in December 2011 promoted as MD for India as well as the South East Asian region, which included countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam. In his almost four-year stint with the company, Tadanki secured strong partnerships that drove six-fold growth of Yahoo mobile users in India.

He also led the formation of editorial operation, delivering 15-fold traffic growth of Yahoo India content properties and played a key role in localising Yahoo experience with local content partnerships across categories such as Cricket, Bollywood, Entertainment and News in English and six local languages - Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, Kannada and Malayalam.

He has over 20 years of experience and prior to joining the Yahoo, he was the president, Asia Pacific and Middle East at Monster.com. He has also worked with companies like JobsAhead.com (head of sales and marketing) and Nestle India (head of culinary business). Tadanki holds a  Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a B Tech degree in mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
