InMobi co-founder Abhay Singhal to head EMEA, global business operations

Bangalore- and San Francisco-based mobile ad network InMobi has announced that its co-founder Abhay Singhal is taking over the role of VP and MD for EMEA and global business operations, as incumbent Rob Jonas is leaving the company. Based in London, Abhay Singhal is currently the VP of global sales.

Announcing the replacement, Naveen Tewari, co-founder and CEO, InMobi said, "Rob has led InMobi EMEA from just a startup to a major leader in mobile advertising across the entire region. Under his leadership, the EMEA region has doubled its revenue year-on-year and won several key awards, including the recent Best Mobile Ad Network accolade by Mobile Entertainment."

"The last three years have seen InMobi grow to become a mobile advertising leader in EMEA, through the dedication and commitment of one of the best digital teams in the industry, in combination with the vision of the company's founders and the technology platform on which the business is built," said Jonas.

Backed by investors including SoftBank, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sherpalo Ventures, InMobi caters to advertisers, publishers and developers globally. It builds mobile-first technology platforms that leverage advances in big-data, user behaviour and cloud-based architectures to simplify advertising.

Last year, the company secured $200 million from Japan's Softbank Corp., the largest deal in the mobile internet space in India till date. It has offices in India, the UK and the US, as well as in other global locations. It recently expanded its footprint in Asia, Europe and Australia.

In July this year, InMobi acquired Metaflow Solutions, a UK-based mobile app management and distribution solutions company, for an undisclosed amount. Just a few days before the Meataflow acquisition, InMobi bought MMTG Labs, Inc., a US-based startup.
