IIM-A ties up with LinkedIn to launch verified-alumni networking platforms

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has partnered with professional networking platform LinkedIn to launch two verified official networking groups for its alumni.

The two groups -- Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad Executive Education Alumni – will allow members to connect with their contemporaries, faculty members and current students for networking, mentoring and recruitment. They will serve as networking platforms for alumni of both the full-time and executive education programmes.

Leveraging our networking technology and products, they IIM-A now has the most dynamic alumni solution in the market," said Hari V. Krishnan, Country Manager LinkedIn India.

The groups will be certified by LinkedIn -- the world's largest professional network with more than 175 million members worldwide and more than 17 million in India -- with an official badge to convey the authenticity of the forums and encourage participation by alumni. The access to these groups will be moderated by IIM-A's alumni office, thereby ensuring all group members are verified alumni of IIMA.

Moreover, the IIM-A groups will facilitate members, who are mid- and senior-level executives from leading corporations and businesses, to strengthen their network and leverage it to their professional advantage. IIM-A also plans to provide recruiters access to the full-time alumni group for lateral hiring opportunities.

"Through our LinkedIn groups, we want to provide our strong and influential alumni base with an opportunity to connect with each other and also keep in touch with the events on campus on a verified platform," said Professor Vijaya Sherry Chand, Dean (Alumni and External Relations), IIMA.

To register, alumni should send request to join the group along with their alumni code. To retrieve the alumni code, visit http://www.iimaalumni.org and update details in the IIMA alumni database.

The 'Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad' group is meant for alumni of post graduate programmes, while 'Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad Executive Education Alumni' group will focus on all eligible alumni of the Management Development Programme, Faculty Development Programme, Armed Forces Programme, 3-Tier Programme and Management Education Programme.
