BigRock unveils web designing marketplace DesignXchange

BigRock, domain registrars and web hosting company (remember the extremely funny 'savitribai' ad), has forayed into website designing with the launch of its online marketplace for website design called DesignXchange.  DesignXchange aims to help consumers choose a website designer in their city and in their budget online. It works as a marketplace where designers can sign up and showcase their services and customers can browse their work. The platform, which is currently in beta stage, has over 1,000 web designers registered already. BigRock expects to enrol 5,000 website designers by the end of this year. Web designers who sign up for DesignXchange will in turn become a part of BigRock's affiliate network. Bhavin Turakhia, founder, BigRock, said, "Website design is a specialised activity which requires designers to understand the needs of the customer in depth and to customise a solution for their needs. While BigRock continues to focus on providing best-in-class products for domains, hosting, and servers which is the infrastructure that powers websites, we invite web designers to work with us and our customers." BigRock is a registrar and hosting company and a part of Directi Group. Directi was founded in 1998 by the brothers Bhavin and Divyank Turakhia and manages group of businesses that develops mass-market web products. The combined product portfolio of various Directi businesses (ResellerClub, LogicBoxes, BigRock, Skenzo, Media.net and Talk.to) include communication and collaboration apps, social networking software, instant messaging software, context analysis engines, anti-spam and antivirus solutions, large-scale billing and provisioning platforms, traffic monetisation solutions, online advertising solutions, DNS management products, Linux and Windows server management software and Web hosting control panels. Speaking exclusively to Techcircle, Bhavin had earlier said the company sells 25,000-30,000 domain names via BigRock on a monthly basis. DesignXchange will prove to be a logical extension to BigRock and as mentioned earlier, will strengthen the services portfolio of Directi. (Edited by Prem Udayabhanu)
