Online travel booking site Cleartrip has introduced a new feature on its existing mobile platform, which enables customers to book international flights on the go. The new feature is designed in a way that those who want to book international tickets can choose from various flight options appearing on the split screen on his smartphone. This app is available on all OS platforms.

"We have tied up with almost all international carriers for this facility and it is available in all major markets across the globe. We had already launched this kind of feature on our mobile platform for domestic passengers in 2010. Close to 15 per cent of our revenue comes from this," said Cleartrip Senior Vice President for product management, Subramanya Sharma.

Cleartrip is targeting more than 15 per cent revenue from international booking through its added feature. "No other travel sites offer this kind of a facility to book international flights on mobile platform. With this new feature, we are expecting a huge traction in terms of traffic," said Sharma.

Cleatrrip, founded by Hrush Bhatt and Stuart Crighton in 2006, has been funded by investors, including Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers, Sherpalo Ventures and DAG Ventures. In June, the company had launched Quickeys, a special feature only for last-minute hotel bookings for same-day or next-day check-ins.

The travel site also launched Expressway, a one-click booking express, in May where users can save their payment card details, thus doing away with the need to enter it over and over again.
