Gurgaon-based remote consumer tech support startup iYogi Technical Services is planning to rope in 1,000 local tech support engineers across the USA and has launched a platform called 'Business NonStop' to recruit and deploy people with skills across a broad range of technologies including computers, networks, consumer electronics and security products. iYogi will also extend its Cloud services delivery platform iMantra to the network.
With this move, iYogi is expected to expand its service delivery capabilities from remote to onsite, expanding its base of 5,000 remote tech experts with local, on-ground tech support engineers.
To power, 'Business NonStop', iYogi has partnered with Work Market, a platform for helping businesses manage networks of verified professionals across all industries.
According to Uday Challu, chief executive officer and co-founder, iYogi, "Technology adoption by consumers and small businesses is increasing across multiple platforms and devices. This is driving a growing need for on-demand tech support services ranging from installation assistance, usability and break-fix support. While we have been at the forefront of helping consumers and small business meet these needs via our global remote delivery model, this partnership with US-based support engineers will enable onsite services and further enhance our offerings to iYogi's subscribers."
According to the firm, iYogi has built its service portfolio with a base of close to 2 million users in key geographies.
iYogi has raised over $58 million in four rounds of funding with the last one being a $30 million round led by Sequoia Capital India in series D funding in December 2010. Its other investors include Canaan Partners, SVB Capital Partners, SAP Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
Early this year, iYogi joined hands with Techserve, a part of conglomerate Al-Futtaim Group, to deliver on-demand remote tech support for consumers and businesses across GCC states in the Middle East.
