Ad network Ozone Media has struck a deal with Times Internet Ltd to become its exclusive sales partner for IPL 2012 for WAP, Android and BlackBerry applications, thus foraying into the mobile advertising segment. Last year, Times Internet had won the global Internet, mobile and radio rights for IPL for 2011-2014.
“Mobile advertising is expected to grow sevenfold in the next five years. It is a lucrative opportunity and a natural progression for us. With an inventory pool of 40 million unique audience spread across premium publishers and our stellar relationships with publishers, this channel will be our next inflection point,” said Kiran Gopinath, CEO & founder of Ozone Media.
“We are excited to partner with Ozone Media for our exclusive IPL 5 mobile channel inventory with a projected 4 million unique audiences, totalling to 80 million impressions,” said Upen Roop Rai, director of TIL.
Started in 2006, Ozone Media competes with the likes of Komli, Vdopia, Sulekha, Tyroo, Media Estate, IndiAds and AdsForIndians, and claims to be among the top three names in the business. Its key clients include HSBC, SBI, ICICI, Yahoo!, Dell, Lenovo, Cleartrip, In.com, Britannia, Huggies, Virgin Mobile, Timesjobs.com and SimplyM, among others.
The company has recently boosted its top management team, bringing in Balasubramanian V as the vice-president, Sanjay Vasudeva as the senior vice-president (sales) and Chetana Anagol (from AOL) as VP, operations & delivery.
