PubMatic, a California-based digital media platform for publishers, has brought in Larry Harris as its first chief marketing officer. Prior to joining PubMatic, Harris was associated with companies like Microsoft, Bank of America, Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Intel.
He was also the CEO and co-founder of Ansible Mobile, advising Fortune 500 companies on the value of mobile marketing programs. Before co-founding Ansible, Harris served as executive vice president of integrated marketing for Draftfcb. "I look forward to helping PubMatic provide premium publishers profit from their ability to connect content, consumers and brands," said Larry Harris on his appointment.
The company aims to accelerate its go-to-market strategy for 2012 with the new appointment. Earlier this month PubMatic released PubLink, an enterprise app marketplace for publishers. It also recently launched another product PubDirect, which allows publishers to monetize their guaranteed and non-guaranteed inventory in a private marketplace that covers all demand channels.
PubMatic is privately held firm, backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Nexus Venture Partners and Helion Ventures. The company is based in California and has seven offices spread across the US, Europe and Asia (including Pune).
