Arun Sirdeshmukh, CEO of Reliance Trends, the apparel, luggage and accessories division of Reliance Retail, has put in his papers in the company to start his own e-commerce venture.
Confirming the news to Techcircle.in, Sirdeshmukh said, "Considering my experience in the fashion segment of more than two decades, I will surely foray into something dealing with fashion."
Earlier in the day, a report in Economics Times said he is also in talks with venture capitalists like Lightspeed and Helion Venture Partners to raise funds for his upcoming venture.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management( Calcutta), Sirdeshmukh started his career at Madura Garments in 1990 where he spent eight years before moving to IBM Global Services for a short stint.
