Ahmedabad-based e-commerce firm Infibeam, which launched Infibeam Logistics, an in-house last-mile logistics delivery system last month, has expanded its delivery capabilities to cover Bangalore and Mumbai.
Earlier, Infibeam had started its own logistics operations in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida. Infibeam now intends to rev up logistics services in 10 more cities by 2012.
Commenting on the expansion, Sachin Dalal, head of Infibeam Logistics said, "As we extend our in-house logistics services to Bangalore and Mumbai, we expect to improve the delivery times and overall customer experience. We will plan to continue building on our logistics platform and extend capabilities in other cities including Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and many more."
Infibeam Logistics provides cash on delivery, payment collection and other value added services to the customers placing orders on the ecommerce portal Infibeam.com.
Infibeam Logistics has developed its own transportation management software platform which will be tuned for e-commerce companies. As the platform scales across multiple cities for Infibeam.com, the company expects to open up the software platform in coming months to other local delivery companies which do not have scanning and tracking services for local package delivery.
