Den Network Appoints Shailendra Nath as CEO, Azhar As CFO

Den Networks, a cable TV service provider, has appointed Shailender Nath Sharma as chief executive officer of the company, the company disclosed in a statement to Bombay Stock Exchange.

Sharma has been associated with the company as president of operations since 2007.

The company has also appointed Mohammad Ghulam Azhar, as chief operating officer of the company and previously held the position of  president strategy and business development since 2007. Sameer Manchanda, who is the promoter of Den, continues to remain Chairman of the firm.

Den currently reaches 11 million households in the country. Besides cable television and broadband Internet services, the company also runs blog.Telly, a micro-blogging service on TV and interactive games. Den was recently in news, with plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore over next 3-4 years for rolling out digital cable networks in India. This investment comes in the background of reports that the Indian government is working on an ordinance to speed up digitisation of the cable and satellite television industry. A draft of the ordinance is being prepared by the Ministry, which would be placed before the Cabinet shortly, according to the government officials.

At 1:31 PM, on Bombay Stock Exchange, shares of Den Network traded at Rs 74.00, down 3.77 per cent from previous close.
