Zapak, Reliance ADA Group's gaming company has launched ten HTML5 games (developed by the gaming company called spilgames) for mobile phones powered by Apple's iOS and the Android operating system. The games can be played online directly from the mobile phone's browser and hence does not necessitate a download.
The new games include Bubble Hit, Block Dream, Sea Treasure Match, Mahjong Shanghai, Flick Color, Doodle Shooting, Bunniez Extreme, Lazors, My Pipe Maze and Maya Mojo and they are available for direct play at mgames.zapak.com. Although made for mobile phones, users can also play them on their PC's.
Most of the games are based on popular board and puzzle games and their game-play is basic in nature. They do not require any special configuration on the handsets part and adapt to the accelerometer of the mobile phones.
These are good enough for casual gaming in basic handsets. Having said that, with special emphasis being given on mobile gaming by handset manufactures and game developers alike, I wonder how many people would actually use their feature rich phones for simpleton games like the ones offered by Zapak.
Just last month Zapak Digital Entertainment Limited had launched a subscription based gaming service called Zapak Plus that offered 120 games from international publishers such as Codemasters, Focus Home Interactive, MumboJumbo, Absolutist, iWin among others.
