India's personal computer market grew 2.5 percent on year to 2.5 million units in April-June, bogged down by rising interest rates and stubborn inflation, but Dell Inc retained its top position in terms of market share, researcher Gartner said.

The market had grown at 6.2 percent in Jan-March, mostly driven by enterprise and small and midsize business buying.

"With the recent hike in commodity pricing such as fuel and food items, the cause of concern continues to exist in the Indian market," Vishal Tripathi, principal research analyst at Gartner, said in a statement.

Local player HCL Info systems, with a market share of 6.6 percent, stood at the fifth spot, Gartner said.
