Browser company Opera Software ASA has partnered with UTV's gaming subsidiary Indiagames to add a shortcut key for gaming on the Opera Mini. Called a 'Speed Dial' button, the shortcuts are in the homepage that opens up when a user launches the browser.

Opera recently signed up with Hungama Digital Entertainment Ltd for a similar deal. The shortcut leads to Hungama's WAP site for mobile music and entertainment.

Opera users will be able to go directly to Indiagames' WAP portal (Wap.indiagames.com) and view and download games in various categories - racing, sports, action, movie-based games, puzzles and casual games. Games available include DLF IPL Cricket, Pirates of the Caribbean and Cars 2. Interestingly, the games featured are premium (not free) for download. Users can also download wallpapers, music and videos onto their mobiles or Tablets.

Starting this month, the Indiagames shortcut will be added onto the Opera Mini browser. Existing Opera users will need to upgrade Opera Mini to see the shortcut. "By bringing quality content to Opera Mini users in India, we are able to give them quick access to an interesting mix of their selected sites," said Sunil Kamath, Sales Director for India & SAARC, Opera Software.

Samir Bangara, COO, Indiagames, said, "The Speed Dial shortcut solves the 'discovery' problem and gives users immediate and convenient access to thousands of exciting games and other entertainment products tailored for their mobile phones."

According to Opera's June 'State of the Mobile web in India' report , India is ranked third amongst countries with highest Opera Mini users. Indians access online videos on their mobiles and are most active on the various social networking sites like Facebook and Orkut.
