Mobile value added services firm One97 Communications Ltd's subsidiary Paytm now allows DTH (Direct To Home) TV subscribers to pay for their services online. It has added the recharge facility for DTH services such as Tata Sky, Dish TV, Airtel Digital TV, Sun Direct, Reliance Digital TV and Videocon D2H.
With the PayTM (Pay Through Mobile) service, users can purchase prepaid recharges instead of visiting retail shops to buy recharge coupons. They will also be able to avail of coupons worth Rs. 2000 on every recharge.
PayTM already allows users to recharge their mobile accounts for operators such as Aircel, BSNL, Idea, Loop Mobile, MTNL, MTS, Reliance, Tata Docomo, Tata Indicom, Uninor, Videocon, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone Essar. Users can pay via credit cards, debit cards or any of the 30 net banking options.
Next, the service will launch a mobile application to purchase recharges. The application will be available for smartphones such as BlackBerry, iPhone, Nokia and Android devices.
Recently, One97 invested an undisclosed amount in Singapore-based LeapSky Wireless, which provides easy-to-use 3G/Wifi based mobile data services. The SAIF Partners and Intel Capital-backed One97 has also filed for a Rs 120 crore IPO.
