Hemant Sachdev Leaves Microsoft India

Hemant Sachdev has left his post as Joint managing director, consumer and online business, Microsoft India. He had held the post since joining the company in 2008. The consumer and online business includes consumer software, Windows Mobile, Windows Live, MSN, Bing among other online services of Microsoft India. Although he has put in his papers, he will serve his notice period for the next 90 days according to afaqs.

Sachdev has more than 22 years of experience to his name and prior to Microsoft he was part of the chairman's apex team in the Bharti Airtel Group. He held the post of group director, brand and corporate communication and was responsible for the Airtel brand's development. Before that he managed the retail operations at McCann Erickson and Foote, Cone and Belding (FCB).

Earlier this year, Microsoft had appointed Bhaskar Pramanik, former managing director of Oracle's India operations as chairman of Microsoft India. The company has also launched its latest cloud service, Microsoft Office 365 in India.
