India Has 9M 3G Users

Third generation (3G) mobile services have already reached the 9 million user mark in India. And according to the operators, this is set to touch 100 million 3G connections by 2015, according to Business Line.

There are a total of 811.59 million mobile connections in India as of March 2011, according to the telecom regulatory authority. The country added 11.1 million GSM connections in April 2011, according to industry body COAI.

BL also reports that Bharti Airtel has the maximum number of subscribers and leads with 3 million 3G connections while Tata DoCoMo is at second place with 1.5 million.
