Google India Hires Guneet Singh

Google India has appointed Guneet Singh as Lead, Consumer Marketing, afaqs reports.

Singh, whose previous stint was at the group-buying site DealsandYou.com, has a total of 11 years of experience in product marketing at Microsoft India, Samsung Electronics India, ABN Amro Bank. He headed product marketing and brand activation for Microsoft's consumer businesses comprising PC, mobile and online.

At DealsandYou.com, Singh headed internal operations and marketing activities and was responsible in building a robust business. He led a 40-member team at the Smile Group owned firm. He quit Dealsandyou.com in November 2010 after divesting his stake.

According to afaqs, Singh will report into Nikhil Rungta, country marketing head of Google India and will be joining the Gurgaon office.

Singh is a marketing management graduate from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.

Top level hires at Google this year include Rajan Anandan, who led Microsoft India as its managing director for two years and was responsible for the tech giant's software, OEM and services business. Anandan joined Google India as Vice President (Sales and Operations). Globally, Google recently roped in James Gosling, who is known as the Father of Java.
